The Aln Valley Railway is Northumberland’s only Standard Gauge Heritage Railway. Our Station at Lionheart is open to welcome visitors most weekends from spring to late summer.
Tickets for train rides from Alnwick to Alnmouth on the coast are available from our shop on operating days, with the engine shed, Buffer Stop café, museum and model railway also open for visitors. We will also be offering some driver experience sessions this season with a number of out-of-season events also timetabled later in the year. Access to the Station area is via the Lionheart Enterprise Park. Exiting the A1 at the South Road junction follow signs toward Shilbottle and the site is signposted from the park’s entrance. Use NE66 2HT to find us using Sat-Nav.
